Do you know a young bookworm who lives and breathes the world of Tracy Beaker or Hetty Feather? Here’s a unique opportunity designed just for them.
On Saturday 26 September 2026, Eastbourne LitFest is hosting a special panel bringing together readers of different ages to chat live on stage in front of an audience of up to 200 fans about Jacqueline’s iconic books, her beloved characters, and what we love most about her stories. Plus, you’ll get to talk to Jacqueline about her brand-new book, Esme Pepper (coming out this August).
The event is aimed at fans aged around 7–12, and our chosen young reader will be right there representing their generation. If you know a young reader who would love the chance to shine on stage next to literary royalty, please share this post with them and their parents.

Who Can Apply?
If you can answer ‘yes’ to these questions, you are eligible to apply:
Age: Will you be 11–13 years old on 26 Sept this year?
Reading stats: Have you read at least three Jacqueline Wilson books?
Location: Do you live in East Sussex?
Availability: Are you available on Saturday 26 September?
Applicants also need permission from a parent or guardian to take part.
How to Enter (It’s Easy!)
You can choose how you want to pitch yourself. Show off your personality by submitting either:
A written entry (up to 200 words) OR
A short video entry (up to 2 minutes)
Your entry should explain:
Why would you like to be part of this special panel?
Which Jacqueline Wilson book is your absolute favourite, and why?
What are two questions you would love to ask Jacqueline Wilson? (Please note that we can’t guarantee these exact questions will be used on the day, but we want to hear your ideas!)

The lucky winner will also need to attend a fun planning meeting (date TBC) with the other interviewers before the big day to get prepped and ready.
